Scientists should be skeptical about things and not believe everything they read until it's been proven by evidence and makes sense. However, they shouldn't reject everything they see until it's proven to be 100% true - they should balance their skepticism with an ability to accept new and different ideas, even if those ideas haven't been backed up by a significant amount of evidence yet.
