what would be the total I pay for a jacket that was $220 but, it was on sale at 25% as a discount, then i used an additional10% coupon towards this jacket. im having trouble with what the total would be that i will end of paying in total for the jacket.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you get a 25% + 10 % = 35 % discount?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i got that but im trying to figure out how much total i would pay for the jacket with both the discounts tooken off from the $220

OpenStudy (anonymous):

35 % = 0.35 in decimal. If you multiply the price 220 with 0.35 you'll get how much is saved off the total price. Your equation would be 220-0.35*220 = discount price

Makes sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it doesnt have a total of $77.00 to choose from it just has A $143.00 B $165.00 C$148.50 D $155.00

OpenStudy (anonymous):

220*0.35 = 77, which is how much you save. To get the discount price( which is what you will pay), you need to take the full price minus the amount you save.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay let me see if i can do this then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got $143.00
