Write the equation of the line that is parallel to the line 3x - y = -3 and passes through the point (4, -2). y = -one thirdx - 6 y = -one thirdx - 14 y = 3x - 6 y = 3x - 14

@SyedMohammed98
first write the line given in slope intercept form y = m x + b
m is the slope of the line parallel lines have the same slope so this will be the slope of the "new line"
ok
the line passes through the given point (x,y ) values so you can find b the intercept of the "new line"
now you can write the equation of the "new line" for any (x, y) with the same slope and the calculated b y = m x + b as in D
let me know if you get stuck
ok see look im real bad at math like really bad and i have no idea like how to to do this but ill try thanks for explaining
@horsegirl27 probably went offline you might be in the same class. I did this problem less than 20 minutes ago still on my screen
actually go to closed questions and you will be able to see how I worked through it
***just checked it's still under the open section 27 minutes ago
is y = 3x - 14 the correct answer?
@DarkMoonZ i just did the same thing I go to LSS
where do you go?
ok flvs
ah well I do Laurel Springs Online School
