I got this from google, not sure if it'll help or not. 'It can hear certain cases for the first time. For example, the Supreme Court would hear controversies between state governments, such as boundary disputes. Like the Georgia Supreme Court, the U.S. Supreme Court hears only certain types of appeals.'
