A line passes through the point (–2, 4), and its y-intercept is (0, –6). What is the equation of the line that is perpendicular to the first line and passes through the point (5, –4)?

Find the slope of the original line. Recall that perpendicular lines have negative reciprocal slopes. For example if line 1's slope is \(\large \frac{1}{2}\) , a line perpendicular to that would have a slope of \(-2\)
