Besides phone numbers, what are the other categorical variables in your survey?(The survey asks for family size, the kind of pets they have, the grade of the youngest child in the family, the family's annual income in dollars, what the dad does for a living, whether the mom works, and their phone number.) A. Family size, dad's occupation, whether mom works, and kind of pets B. Dad's occupation, whether mom works, and kind of pets C. Grade of youngest child, dad's occupation, whether mom works, and kind of pets D. Everything but family size E. Everything but annual income
Ok thanks, i was trying to figure out if grade of the youngest child in the family was counting the number or if that was a category so i wasn't quite sure of that and i know annual income isn't categorical
c,a,e
@ganeshie8 can i get your input on this please?
family size is not categorical for sure
so you can eliminate first and last options right away
yea i was thinking it was b but i wasn't sure if grade level was going to count as categorical or numerical
Exactly! im also thinking the same
ok thank you!
Hint:- categorical variables is the variable that have specific limited values that are not defined asnumbers
i think Grade of youngest child is categorical variables , when u say he/she in 7th 8th grade u define a level not number
grade of youngest child is ordinal variable
search "grad" here http://www.ats.ucla.edu/stat/mult_pkg/whatstat/nominal_ordinal_interval.htm
categorical variables contain ordinal :) like level of class or degree
Ohhk got you :)
ok is numerical the same thing as ordinal?
like giving bac=1 master =2 phd=3
then it has to be C ?
yosh indeed
ok got it, il go wid C too @hockeychick23
ok thanks for all your help guys!
:)
