Two equations are shown. y = 2x – 6 x + 3y = 22 What are the coordinates of the point where the lines of the two equations intersect? Explain your reasoning.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well you could use substitution to solve the equation do you know how to do this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plug the first one into the second one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im not sure how to do that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so basically because y=2x-6 you can plug that equation into the y of the second equation x+3y=22, so it would be x+3(2x-6)=22 and then solve for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im still confused... lol.
