OpenStudy (kidthatbro8):

Solve for x: 4x - 2 > 6x + 8. x > -5 x < -5 x > 5 x < 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solve -2*(x+5) > 0

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

step 1 : add 2 to both sides step 2 : subtract 6x from both sides step 3 : combine like terms step 4 : divide both sides by -2....remember that when dividing by a negative (in an inequality) means that the inequality sign changes

OpenStudy (kidthatbro8):

im not sure how to do that, really...

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

step by step... 4x - 2 > 6x + 8 -- add 2 to both sides 4x - 2 + 2 > 6x + 8 + 2 (the 2's on the left side cancel out) 4x > 6x + 8 + 2 --now subtract 6x from both sides 4x - 6x > 6x - 6x + 8 + 2 (the 6x's on the right side cancel out) combine like terms -2x > 10 -- divide both sides by -2 (change inequality sign) x < -5

OpenStudy (kidthatbro8):

oh, thank you !

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

anytime :) Don't worry...it will come easier the more you do it :)
