Using the transformation T: (x, y) (x + 2, y + 1), find the distance named. Find the distance AB

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@butterflydreamer what do i do here?

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

Distance AB = Distance A'B' You want to find AB so all you do is use the coordinates of A and B and then plug it into the distance formula :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(1,2) and (3.4)?

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

not quite. Can you see how A is at (0,0? B is at (1,3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh its that A? i thought its the other one

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

yes that is A the TWO RED LINES are your axis and since A is in the center of both that means it is at (0,0) :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i can only put sqrt and one number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the distance is sqrt 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do i have simplify or what?

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

hang on. Let me check

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

hmm it should just be sqrt 10

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

wait. Recheck what you wrote for the question .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nvm i mixed some things up, srry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thnx 4 ur help:)

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

okay :) no worries
