SOMEONE PLS HELP

OpenStudy (anonymous):

J & B Research is conducting a survey to see if people still live in the state in which they were born. They hired Kimberly, Emily, and Ava to conduct the survey. Kimberly surveyed 400 people with 38% of respondents answering yes. Emily surveyed 364 people with 3 out of 7 respondents answering yes. Ava surveyed 350 people with 0.44 of respondents answering yes. Place the survey takers in order from least number of respondents answering yes to greatest number of respondents answering yes.

mathslover (mathslover):

Let us take the case-1 as a start: Kimberly surveyed \(\bf{400}\) people with \(\color{blue}{38 \% }\) of respondents answering \(\bf{yes}\) . Find \(38 \%\) of 400 people. What do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

152

mathslover (mathslover):

Good. So, for case -1 we have : Number of respondents answering \(\bf{yes}\) = \(\color{blue}{152}\) Now, we will consider case-2 : Emily surveyed \(\bf{364}\) people with \(\color{red}{3}\) out of \(\color{red}{7}\) respondents answering \(\bf{yes}\) . Now among 364 people, out of every 7 respondents 3 answered "yes". So, let us imagine that every 7 respondents imply 1 group. Can you tell me how many groups will be there among 364 people then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

52 ?

@mathslover

mathslover (mathslover):

Good going. So, basically we are given with out of every 1 group, 3 respondents say "yes" So, how many will say "yes" out of 52 groups?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

156

mathslover (mathslover):

Good. So, we have : For case-2 - Number of respondents saying \(\bf{yes}\) = \(\color{red}{156} \)

mathslover (mathslover):

Now consider case-3 : Ava surveyed \(\bf{350}\) people with \(\color{green}{0.44}\) of respondents answering \(\bf{yes}\). Now, just multiply 0.44 to 350 to find the number of respondents saying "Yes" in this case. What do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

154

mathslover (mathslover):

Good. So, for case-3 : we have \(\color{green}{154} \) people saying \(\bf{yes}\)

mathslover (mathslover):

Now, compare the answer from each cases and then arrange them in the order.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay ... thank you ! you were much help and i got it correct !! thank you gain :) @mathslover
