Solve, using the substitution method. 2x + 3y = 1 y = x – 8 (0, –8) (2, –6) (4, –4) (5, –3)

@Agl202

OpenStudy (agl202):

Thats much better... Thanks @sleepyjess @poopsiedoodle @sammixboo @MARC_ @OrthodoxMan Please help!!!

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Ok, so we have 2x+3y=1 and y=x-8. We can solve for x by substituting \(\bf x-8\) in for y.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please I'm low on time!!

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

What do you mean, low on time?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Math is never low on time

OpenStudy (agl202):

She needs a straight forward answer plzzz...

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Exactly @OrthodoxMan

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

I am not going to give a direct answer, if you want to get to the answer, I am more than happy to work with you to get to it.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

It is against the CoC to give direct answers =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use the substitution rule jess has introduced and you'll find x and y in a nick of time

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Also, what Sammi said :)

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

and offline :/

OpenStudy (agl202):
