How did World War II change the United States’ position in world affairs?
Okay, I glanced online just to refresh a bit. The US has been playing the policy of isolationism (from the word isolate). i.e. the US didn't participate in world's affairs (in WWII, the US was staying out at the beginning, and then) in the Middle of WWII the US began to engage more and more.
This began as the US, started giving weapons and providing other technology to Great Britain (to fight Germany).
Then, at certain point the US (despite some arguments inside the SU whether the US should spend it's [war] resources like this or not) engaged (more or less) fully in the WWII.
At that time the US was friends with USSR, (as "enemy of my enemy is my friend, e.i. the USSR is enemy of Germany, who was the US's enemy). But again, all the time, US and USSR has been the biggest competetors, and still are even till this day.
More?
Yes.. What else can you tell me about this @SolomonZelman ? I was trying to find more info on this. (My textbook goes into this question a little bit.) Like I know the U.S took a new position in the world affairs after WWII, but I don't understand much about it. You mentioned that you glanced online about this. Can I see what websites you used?
No, I just looked up the turn, isolationism.
I remember this from my History class, however I can look up some sites for yuou if you like to really know alot about it.
Well I need enough understanding of the info to fully answer the question. Like I read up on what my history lessons said and I looked at what my text book says also. I'm just not 100% sure on this info, that's why I'm trying to understand it. Like I think I have enough info to answer the question, just trying to make sense of what info I have already and fully understand what I'm learning is the hard part.
@SolomonZelman Can you still help me out?
I had to leave, apologize
That's alright @SolomonZelman
