divide.assume the denominator does not equal zero 12x^2y-6xy+4x^2/2xy (this problem is a fraction ) im stuck on these problems so if someone could show me step by step how to do it thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First thing to do is to factor each term so that you can easily cancel out.. Look for the thing that each term has then divide it. You'll get the answer. For example: 3xy^2 - 9yz + 24x^2y^2 / 3xy 3y is the thing that each term has.. 3xy^2 has 3y -9yz has 3y +24x^2y^2 has 3y Did you get my point?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea that helps a little

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I also don't get this problem im supposed to factor it completely 1. 2x^2+12xy+18y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, what's your final answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

On your question, I got (6xy-3y+2x) / y .. Did you get the same answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea I did finally lol but the steps still confuse me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ow.. sorry if I confuse you... Just think of the thing that each of them can have a similar thing...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like what exactly did you do to get it like could you right it out so I can see if I did it the same way my teacher has two ways of doing it the long way or the short way so im trying to figure out which method is just easier to use for the rest of my homework
