OpenStudy (chunkymonkay):

can someone plz show me how to do this?? a line has a slope of 9/4 and a y-intercept of -14 which equation represents the line? A.-9x+4y=-56 B.9x+4y=56 C.y=9/4x-14 D.y=9/4x+14

Directrix (directrix):

Start with the slope intercept form for the equation of a line.

Directrix (directrix):

y = mx + b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.

Directrix (directrix):

y = ( )* x + ( ) Your slope is 9/4 and your y-ntercept is -14. So, fill in those numbers in the spaces of the equation at the top of this post.

Directrix (directrix):

Post what you get, okay? @Chunkymonkay

OpenStudy (chunkymonkay):

sorry @Directrix I wasn't on. I got y=9/4x+14

OpenStudy (chunkymonkay):

but there is suppose to be more than one answer to the question

OpenStudy (chunkymonkay):

@misty1212 can you please help

Directrix (directrix):

The y-intercept is -14. You put in 14, so fix that first.

Directrix (directrix):

Post what you get after you repair that y intercept. Now, look at the options and choose the one that looks like your equation. @Chunkymonkay

OpenStudy (chunkymonkay):

I think C and A

Directrix (directrix):

@Chunkymonkay I agree.

OpenStudy (chunkymonkay):

thank you

Directrix (directrix):

You are welcome.
