The coordinates of a point on a coordinate grid are (−2, 6). The point is reflected across the x-axis to obtain a new point. The coordinates of the reflected point are (2, 6) (−2, 6) (−2, −6) (2, −6)

If it reflects over the x-axis, that means the x-value stays the same (-2). The y-value would change to the opposite of what it currently is (from 6 to -6). There's a (messy) picture below. When you reflect across an axis, you move the point the same number of steps on the other side of the axis. In this case, it took 6 steps to move down to the x-axis, so we take 6 more steps away from the x-axis (below) -- taking us to the point (-2, -6) |dw:1421779983935:dw|
