try expanding the 3rd one

look at the last term : it is -12 so the 2 constant terms MUST multiply out to get -12 This means that only the 3rd and 4th options are possible Both of them have 3x and x so produce 3x^2 so oyu need to evaluate the value for the x term to see which is correct

so the 'x' term coms from |dw:1421955998178:dw| not entirely a clear diagram - but you can see that the x term coms from the sum of multiplying the first term of one bracket and the 2nd of the other
