Please help! Complete with the correct form of the past tense for: cantar/yo.

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

cantar/yo in present form are -yo canto in past -yo cante

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He is correct. The reason is that instead of o, you use e. If you would like a reason. Just bored so hoped that helped you.

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I read like Daniel and didn't see any of the other letters. At this point, I really don't know anymore...

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

ok lol because I just got someone asking if I was a girl so I had to make sure XD

OpenStudy (alfonso-o):

Good points there, @Daniellelovee and @mreeves8 ! If I may try and help adding something... Regular verbs like CANTAR (infinitive ends in -AR) do have an -e ending in the preterite past (for the *yo* form: *yo cante* [with accent on *e*]). However, we just need to bear in mind that this changes for verbs like COMER (where the infinitive ends in -ER) and VIVIR (where the infinitive ends in -iR). Here's how it works, with some examples (in the examples, I'm giving first the present and then the preterite past for the *yo* form): -AR --> CANTAR - yo canto - yo cante [*e* accented] -ER --> COMER - yo como - yo comi [*i* accented] -IR --> VIVIR - yo vivo - yo vivi [*i* accented] Hope this helps in some way! Blessings
