Use the diagram to name the figures. Three collinear points Four non-coplanar points Two opposite rays Two intersecting lines The intersection of plane LMN and plane QLS
diagram?
Right there!
I have all my answers, I just need to make sure they are correct and they make sense!
post what you have so far sara_lee101
The three collinear points could be either Q, T, and W or N, X, and U The four non-coplanar points in the figure are Q, L, S and R The two opposite rays could be either XU, XN or TN and TQ Two intersecing lines could be MR and LS And finally The intersection between LMN and QLS is SL
"The three collinear points could be either Q, T, and W or N, X, and U" I don't see point W, but I agree with " N, X, and U"
Arrows on top of the points go for the following: XU, XN, TN, TQ, MR, LS, and SL
"The four non-coplanar points in the figure are Q, L, S and R" correct
Oh sorry, I meant Q, T and N
"Q, T and N" works
ok
"The two opposite rays could be either XU, XN or TN and TQ" correct
alright
"Two intersecing lines could be MR and LS" incorrect, line MR never intersects line LS since they are parallel lines
Oh ok. No, I meant one or the other
Since the question is asking to give Two intersecting lines
you need to list 2 lines (not one or the other)
SO, what would that be? I am confused on the subject...
one pair could be LM and MR they intersect at point M
another pair is MR and RU they intersect at point R
Oh ok.. So, I was right with MR but not LS, right?
yeah MR and LS never cross
there are lots of other pairs as well
ok, and what about the last one?
the one with the intersection in the two planes?
Did I get that one correct?
" The intersection between LMN and QLS is SL" incorrect
How? Could you explain a bit more on that? Please...
LMN is the front face QLS is the left face (hidden behind the front & top faces)
ok
you think of LMN as plane LMNQ think of QLS as plane QLSP
LMNQ and QLSP have the letters "L" and "Q" in both so that's why they intersect to form line LQ
and that's the front left corner edge
where the front and left faces intersect
Oh! I knew that in order for there to be an intersection both had to have one letter in each.. SO thats why I was confused as only one plane contained the letter S
Now I understand a bit better!
So other than the two mistakes I made, the rest of the answers were correct?
yes everything else looks good
Thank you so much!!
you're welcome
