any ideas @mathmath333 ?
OpenStudy (henrietepurina):
@jagr2713 :D Sorry to call you back but I need help :P
OpenStudy (mathmath333):
i think u have to make a table containing
\(x\) and \(f(x)\)
with values of \(x\) same as \(0.6,0.8,1,1.2,1.4\)
use the formula given to find that
\(f(x)=0.05x^2-7x+300\)
OpenStudy (henrietepurina):
ok then... so the answer for 0.6 is 295.8009

and then find if the if any values of \(f(x) \) is less than \(g(x)\)
OpenStudy (mathmath333):
u have to find all the values of \(f(x)\) for values 0.6,0.8,1,1.2,1.4
OpenStudy (mathmath333):
295 is correct for \(x=0.6\)
OpenStudy (henrietepurina):
ok...
OpenStudy (mathmath333):
if every values of \(f(x)\) is less than \(g(x)\) then company \(1.\) has minimum cost production

OpenStudy (henrietepurina):
so far. it looks like company 2 has the greater cost
OpenStudy (mathmath333):
then it would be company \(2.\)
OpenStudy (henrietepurina):
let me check the rest quickly
OpenStudy (henrietepurina):
yeah, the greater cost is for comp. 2 for all
OpenStudy (henrietepurina):
but I can't understand the question
Based on the given information, the minimum production cost for company _____ is greater.

OpenStudy (henrietepurina):
is it asking for the one with less or bigger prices?
OpenStudy (mathmath333):
oh so it asks for less values of \(f(x)\) or \(g(x)\)
OpenStudy (mathmath333):
so it would be \(f(x)\) i think
OpenStudy (mathmath333):
that is company \(1.\)
OpenStudy (henrietepurina):
you sure?

I think it's asking for company 2, because of the key word "greater"
OpenStudy (mathmath333):
have u found all values for \(f(x)\)
OpenStudy (henrietepurina):
yeah, and they're all less for comp. 1
OpenStudy (mathmath333):
then its company \(\huge 1.\)
OpenStudy (henrietepurina):
how come its asking who's minimum values, are greater
