help please? What polynomial has roots of -6, 1, and 4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Y = (x+6)(x-1)(x-4) roots are the values of x where y=0. If you plug in any of the root above, you'll end up with 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so which one is the answer? im confused @ArsalanAijaz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Expand the equation I gave you. You'll end up with one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Y=(x-a)(x-b)(x-c)(x-d).... This is the equation for any function. a,b,c,d... get replaced by the root (depending on how many do you have), the whole equation yields 0 and there you have it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont get it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A root is any value of x that makes y 0. Are you aware of the degree of an equation?
