HELP!!! MEDAL!!! Find the solution of three times the square root of the quantity of x plus 6 equals negative 12 ik it equals 10 but I don't know if its extraneous or not @Directrix

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[3\sqrt{x+6} = -12\] Divide both sides by 3 Square both sides You'll get X = 10 and -22

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know its 10 but I need to find out if its extraneous or not extraneous @ArsalanAijaz

Directrix (directrix):

@chrissy2430 Is this a cube root of (x +6) that I see or is it a 3* sqrt(x+6) that I see? Not sure about the problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its the problem @ArsalanAijaz had put with the square root thing that equals -12

Directrix (directrix):

The 3 is elevated as if the problem is a cube root of something. But, you say it is a square root. So, until I know what the problem is, I cannot help. Sorry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think its a square root

Directrix (directrix):

If so, how can this be >>>You'll get X = 10 and -22

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Directrix just ignore what I had put and look what @ArsalanAijaz had put with the -12 my answer choices is between x=10 extraneous x= 10 not extraneous im stuck between which one to put
