Where does a healthy cell spend most of it's lifetime? A. S phase B. Interphase C. Mitosis D. Cytokinesis
According to wikipedia: Interphase is considered to be the 'living' phase of the cell, in which the cell obtains nutrients, grows, copies its DNA, and conducts other "normal" cell functions. The majority of eukaryotic cells spend most of their time in interphase. Interphase does not describe a cell that is merely resting but is rather an active preparation for cell division Source(s): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interphase
I made a bad drawing. The outer ring is the Interphase/M phase portions and the inner ring is the parts of interphase: G1, S, and G2. M-phase usually last ~30 minutes, while the G1 and G2 phases can last an indefinite length of time. |dw:1422242928941:dw|
