Why might some Americans fear NAFTA? It will require Americans to have a working knowledge of the Spanish language. They fear a mass influx of Canadian immigrants into the U.S. They worry that American jobs could go to Mexico. Many products once available will no longer be available.
@Kristy9 Please help
what do u think
Americans always fear outsourcing of jobs, fyi
To be honest I think choice number four.
They fear a mass influx of Canadian immigrants into the U.S.
That's something I never feared before in my life. invasion of canadians?
answer is C, jobs will be outsourced to mexico.
@mg_omg @Kristy9 What is your source, I am just making sure. No offense
Lol
I will medal who ever is correct.
http://economyincrisis.org/content/why-nafta-is-bad-for-the-u-s "Because of NAFTA, American workers are now forced to compete directly with Mexican workers who, on average, make just $3 per hour. Their American counterparts make $18 per hour. Why would any manufacturer want to produce here in America and pay $18-20 per hour when the same product can be produced right across the border in Mexico for just $3 per hour and then shipped back to the U.S. duty- and restriction-free?"
gimme an invasion of canadians over that anyday
"Rather than creating in any year the net 200,000 jobs per year promised by former President Bill Clinton on the basis of Peterson Institute for International Economics projections, job loss from NAFTA began rapidly"
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/lori-wallach/nafta-at-20-one-million-u_b_4550207.html "American manufacturing jobs were lost as U.S. firms used NAFTA's new foreign investor privileges to relocate production to Mexico to take advantage of that country's lower wages and weaker environmental standards."
That is true, not to be racist or any thing, but foreigners work for low pay just for the money.
That's the reason Apple outsourced all their manufacturing jobs to China, for example. It's cheaper.
YOU DONT HAVE TO GIVEG ME MEDAL CUZ IM NOT WORKING FOR MEDAL SO YEA.
It's also the driving reason behind arguments against free trade.
@Kristy9 not to mention you were wrong, :p
Here is the definition from my text book: a trading bloc between the United States, Canada, and Mexico that was formed in response to the European Union trading bloc; it took effect on January 1, 1994, with the goals of phasing out tariffs and creating a duty-free zone between the North American countries
Be nice Lol
OK IF I WERE WRONG SORRY FOR GAVEING U THE WRONG ANSWER
I will tell you who is right when I submit the test.
the suspense is killing me :c
OK
I have a total of 12 questions
all right I will try to help u.
All of following are true about how the European Union differs from NAFTA except The European Union has a common currency and NAFTA does not. The European Union has social goals where NAFTA does not. The European Union has political goals where NAFTA does not. The European Union has tariffs where NAFTA does not. I THINK IT IS B
One of the EU's many goals is a common currency, the Euro
Yes, they do run on a Euro currency, so now I am thinking that the NAFTA organization did not have the same currency because Mexicans use pesos, but I think Americans and Canadians both use the same type of currency. So I think you are right @mg_omg, Do you agree with what I have to say. @mg_omg @Kristy9
Yep, I think you are right. NAFTA doesn't advance a common currency but the EU does.
@mg_omg You were correct, it is C! Thank You, but I still got a 50% on it, so I am going to retake it again. Lol. @Kristy9 Thank you for trying though.
