WILL MEDAL + FAN!!! What are the x and y intercepts of the inequality? –2x + 4y > 8

OpenStudy (omgthatgirl):

Any answer choices?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no sorry @Omgthatgirl

Directrix (directrix):

Do you know how to draw the graph of -2x + 4y = 8? That is the border for the inequality so we need to look at that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk how but i think it's 2,4... not sure though :/

Directrix (directrix):

I think that is not 100% correct. I am thinking that the x- and y-intercepts of the inequality are the same as those of the line I asked you to graph. Go to this site and look at the graph of the inequality you were given. You can read the intercepts from the graph. https://www.desmos.com/calculator

Directrix (directrix):

I did not create an account there so you may not be able to see it. Click on the attachment and read the intercepts from it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it -10?

Directrix (directrix):

but i think it's 2 ---> (0,2) yes What is the other one? It is not 4 @AMYCARTER

Directrix (directrix):

What is the coordinate of the blue marked point? See attachment.

Directrix (directrix):

>>is it -10? No.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it looks like 0

Directrix (directrix):

The y coordinate is zero but the x is not. What is the x number that goes with the blue dot?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm is it just 10 orrrrr hold on let me see

Directrix (directrix):

Two units to the left of zero. Each unit is 2. 2 times 2 = what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh it's 4 I was gonna say 2 but nm

Directrix (directrix):

-4 because we are to the left of the origin

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the x intercept is 0,2 and the y intercept is 4,0

Directrix (directrix):

Intercepts are (0,2) and (-4,0) Some people just say 2 and -4.

Directrix (directrix):

No. Look two postings above your last post?

Directrix (directrix):

Intercepts are (0,2) and (-4,0) Some people just say 2 and -4.
