Help with properties of integrals.

question?

OpenStudy (deoxna):

\[\int\limits_{0}^{4}f(x)dx=4\] \[\int\limits_{0}^{2}f(2x)dx=2\] Why is this true?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because the textbook says that it is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

F(a) - f(b)

OpenStudy (loser66):

from the second one, let u = 2x, dx = 1/2 du, change the limits x =0, u =0, x =2, u =4, then you have \[\int _0^4\dfrac{1}{2} f(u) du\]

OpenStudy (loser66):

see the link now? or need some steps?
