try a small number for part a) how about x=1/2. what will happen?

@colevalley18 A counter example is finding a case where the given statement is invalid. If I say " All primes are odd", a counter example would be "2 is a prime, but 2 is not odd". Another statement: "All odd numbers are primes". A counter example would be "9 is odd, but 9 is not a prime since it has factor 3 which is not 1 and not 9". So looking for counter-examples is fun. You only have to look within the given domain an example that contradicts the statement. Be sure to look at all possibilities. If x\(\in R\), then look at all numbers, positive, negative, >1, <1, integers, etc. It's fun finding counter-examples! :)
