OpenStudy (dtan5457):
If the radical is the same, you just subtract the numbers outside of it.
OpenStudy (horsegirl27):
Thanks.
OpenStudy (dtan5457):
So you get..?

Please help with these as well
OpenStudy (horsegirl27):
@dtan5457
OpenStudy (dtan5457):
Ok for the first you one you need to simplify out the radicals, because when you have like radicals for 2 terms, you can add or subtract them.
For example, radical 48 can be simplified to 4(radical3)
What can -radical54 be simplified too?
OpenStudy (dtan5457):
\[\sqrt{48}=\sqrt{16\times3}=4\sqrt{3}\]
OpenStudy (dtan5457):
Try and simplify radical 54

how
OpenStudy (horsegirl27):
Sorry I'm confused
OpenStudy (horsegirl27):
@dtan5457
OpenStudy (dtan5457):
Find a perfect square that goes into 54 like I did for 48
OpenStudy (horsegirl27):
What is it? @dtan5457

OpenStudy (horsegirl27):
@dtan5457 I'm confused what is a radical?
OpenStudy (horsegirl27):
Is it 9?
OpenStudy (dtan5457):
are you still talking about the last question?
OpenStudy (horsegirl27):
Yes lol

Is the answer C?
OpenStudy (horsegirl27):
or B? maybe?
OpenStudy (horsegirl27):
number 3
OpenStudy (horsegirl27):
What's the answer?
OpenStudy (dtan5457):
\[7\sqrt{3}-4\sqrt{6}+4\sqrt{3}-3\sqrt{6}\]
i simplified all the radicals for you, now just do basic addition and subtraction

Thanks!
OpenStudy (horsegirl27):
I got C. Now could you explain 4 and 5? After that I think I might understand @dtan5457 I just didn't understand the math lesson and have no clue how to do the homework XD
OpenStudy (dtan5457):
It's not C lol
OpenStudy (dtan5457):
You can't subtract the inside of the radicals, just the outside numbers
OpenStudy (horsegirl27):
oh ok
