Solve the following system of equations by substitution. 3y = 12 2x + y = -16 A. (-4, -10) B. (-10, 4) C. (4, 10) D. (3, 3)

Okay so first I believe you would solve for y in the first equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@kaylalynn825 you there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yah I am sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the first equation can be solved by dividing 12 by 3. After that, you replace the y in equation two with the solution from equation one.

@kaylalynn825 does this make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thank you
