Could someone please help me? :(
If you were to use the substitution method to solve the following system, choose the new equation after the expression equivalent to y from the first equation is substituted into the second equation. 15x - y = -6 5x - 3y = -13
@Directrix @Nnesha
Take this and solve for y. First Equation: 15x - y = -6 y =15x +6
Into the second equation, substitute 15x + 6 for y. Second Equation: 5x - 3y = -13
5x - 3y = -13 5x - 3 * (15x + 6) = -13 --->
From there don out combine?
Do you
Yes. I'm wondering if you have answer options for how the second equation is supposed to look after the substitution.
Or, is it you asking the question as you are solving the system?
If you want to solve for x, then you need to simplify this to solve for x. 5x - 3 * (15x + 6) = -13
. 5(-15x - 6) - 3y = -13 5(15x + 6) - 3y = -13 5x - 3(15x + 6) = -13 5x - 3(-15x - 6) = -13
Those are my answer choices
Sooo c
I see an answer choice identical to this: 5x - 3 * (15x + 6) = -13 --->
C is what I think, too.
You are welcome.
