Please Explain! Will Give Medal! The quote below was written in the 1940s: "Why die for democracy for some foreign country when we don't even have it here?" What was a long-term consequence of the sentiment expressed in the quote above?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The American public began to protest draft requirements in future wars. African Americans increased their push for civil rights on the home front. The American public let isolationist and nativist beliefs guide their actions. Minority groups in the United States defected and began to support Europe.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm, who do you think could have said that sentence? Must have been some people who weren't happy with what was going on in America

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was thinking it could have been Minority groups because they were already unhappy with their "rights"

@mg_omg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, i don't think D is correct because why they would leave the US and go fight for Europe then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, then would it be B? African Americans were involved in the war, but they still kind of got treated the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think B is correct, yea. being in the war and called upon to serve their country made them express that sentiment

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They fought in the war like heroes and came back to a country that looked down on them, was eye opening for many

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank You! I passed!!!

Awesome! :)
