A circle is cut from a square piece of cloth, as shown: A square, one side labeled as 48 inches, has a circle inside it. The circle touches all the sides of the square. The portion of the square outside the circle is shaded. How many square inches of cloth are cut from the square? (π = 3.14) 150.72 in2 192.00 in2 1,152.00 in2 1,808.64 in2

Sorry man, not good with with circles but my best guess is probably the lowest or second to lowest number.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok and then one more

Lara wrote the following statement: "You can only draw one unique isosceles triangle that contains an angle of 75°." Which statement is true? Lara is correct, because only one unique triangle can be drawn with the given information. Lara is incorrect, because the triangle described cannot be drawn with the given information. Lara is incorrect, because more than one triangle can be drawn with the given information. None of the above.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then i have a few more if u can help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'll try what I can but I'll be leaving soon, just so you know.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry it's taking a minute I'm not too familiar with geometry. I believe the answer to the Lara question is C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got a 42%

Sorry...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

silence can u help with a few more questions

The figure below shows two triangles on the coordinate grid: A coordinate grid is shown from positive 6 to negative 6 on the x axis and from positive 6 to negative 6 on the y axis. A triangle ABC is shown with vertex A on ordered pair negative 4, negative 1, vertex B on ordered pair negative 3, negative 1 and vertex C on ordered pair negative 4, negative 4. Another triangle A prime B prime C prime is shown with vertex A prime on ordered pair negative 1, 1, vertex B prime on ordered pair negative 2, 1, and vertex C prime on ordered pair negative 1, 4. What set of transformations is performed on triangle ABC to form triangle A′B′C′? A translation 5 units up, followed by a 270-degree counterclockwise rotation about the origin A 270-degree counterclockwise rotation about the origin, followed by a translation 5 units up A 180-degree counterclockwise rotation about the origin, followed by a translation 5 units to the right A translation 5 units to the right, followed by a 180-degree counterclockwise rotation about the origin

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can't see the jpg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok well it is the pic for the problem...can u still help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, my internet keeps cutting off. I will try to help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx well the first one is

Line segment RS below is shown on a coordinate grid: A coordinate grid is shown from positive 6 to negative 6 on the x axis and from positive 6 to negative 6 on the y axis. A line segment RS is shown with S as ordered pair negative 1, negative 3 and R as ordered pair negative 5, negative 3. The line segment is rotated 270 degrees counterclockwise about the origin to form R′S′. Which statement describes R′S′? R′S′ is parallel to RS. R′S′ is half the length of RS. R′S′ is twice the length of RS. R′S′ is equal in length to RS.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would be equal in length

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok here is the next one

Two similar triangles below are shown on the coordinate grid: A coordinate grid is shown from positive 6 to negative 6 on the x axis and from positive 6 to negative 6 on the y axis. A triangle ABC is shown with vertex A on ordered pair negative 2, negative 1, vertex B on ordered pair 0, 0, and vertex C on ordered pair 1, negative 3. A triangle A prime B prime C prime is also shown with vertex A prime on ordered pair negative 4, 2 , vertex B prime on ordered pair 0, 0 and vertex C prime on ordered pair 2, 6. Which set of transformations has been performed on triangle ABC to form triangle A′B′C′? Dilation by a scale factor of 4 followed by reflection across the x-axis Dilation by a scale factor of 2 followed by reflection across the x-axis Dilation by a scale factor of 4 followed by reflection across the y-axis Dilation by a scale factor of 2 followed by reflection across the y-axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dilation by a scale factor of 2 followed by reflection across the x-axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx here is the next i got a couple but these are the ones i cant get

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which sequence of transformations creates a similar but not congruent triangle? Rotation and reflection Reflection and translation Translation and rotation Dilation and reflection

Figure ABCD below is transformed to obtain figure A′B′C′D′: A coordinate grid is shown from negative 6 to 6 on both axes at increments of 1. Figure ABCD has A at ordered pair negative 4, 4, B at negative 2, 2, C at negative 2, negative 1, D at negative 4, 1. Figure A prime B prime C prime D prime has A prime at ordered pair 4, 0, B prime at 2, negative 2, C prime at 2, negative 5, D prime at 4, negative 3. Part A: Write the sequence of transformations that changes figure ABCD to figure A′B′C′D′. Explain your answer and write the coordinates of the figure obtained after each transformation. (6 points) Part B: Are the two figures congruent? Explain your answer. (4 points)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx for ur help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's reflected over the y axis and translated down 4 units. After its reflected you get A: (4,4) B: (2,2) C: (2,-1) D: (4,1) and then after translation down 4 units you get A: (4,0) B: (2,-2) C:2,-5) D:(4,-3) Yes the two figures are congruent. Even after the reflection and translation it still has the same size and shape

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You are welcome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx i have just one more srry ill fan and medal u

Okie ^-^

A student writes an incorrect step while checking if the sum of the measures of the two remote interior angles of triangle ABC below is equal to the measure of the exterior angle. A triangle ABC is shown. The base of the triangle extends into a straight line. The angle formed between this straight line and the edge of the triangle is marked as w. The angle adjacent to w is marked as z, and the other two angles inside the triangle are marked as x and y. Step 1: m∠x + m∠y + m∠z = 180 degrees (sum of angles of a triangle) Step 2: m∠w − m∠z = 90 degrees (corresponding angles) Step 3: Therefore, m∠x + m∠y + m∠z = m∠w + m∠z Step 4: So, m∠x + m∠y = m∠w In which step did the student first make a mistake and how can it be corrected? Step 1; it should be m∠x + m∠y + m∠z = 180 degrees (sum of corresponding angles) Step 2; it should be m∠w + m∠z = 180 degrees (supplementary angles) Step 1; it should be m∠x + m∠y + m∠z = 90 degrees (corresponding angles) Step 2; it should be m∠w + m∠z = 90 degrees (alternate exterior angle)

I'm sorry I don't think I'll be able to help with this one. I can't see anything.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Maybe if you took a screenshot?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is how it is the ? are - i think hang on ill try to fix it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o wait my bad they are like < > signs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But I'm not able to tell which is which

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok umm hang on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i put what i thought and got a 60% but the essay needs to b graded to ill get a better score thx so much ur awesome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay. I like helping, no need to thank me~

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i did...XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

btw u can call me logan if u want

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha okay, Your gratitude has been accepted Logan. Nice to meet you. cx
