@misty1212 @iGreen.

Simplify. 2m2 – 4n2 + 3m – 6m2 – 2m + 7n2 A. −4m2 + 3n2 + m B. −4m2 + 3n2 C. –36m + 28n D. 9m2 + 6m + 11n2

OpenStudy (misty1212):

HI!!

OpenStudy (misty1212):

identify the like terms, then combine them!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the nubers at the end are veriables

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the like terms first. \(2m^2\) and \(-6m^2\) \(-4n^2\) and \(7n^2\) \(3m\) and \(-2m\) Can you combine these? It's just like adding regular numbers, but we keep the variable and exponent. So like if we have: \(6x^2 + 5x^2\) it becomes \(11x^2\), because 6 + 5 = 11.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So first add \(2m^2 + -6m^2\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2m2 + -6m2 =-4m2 -4n2+ 7n2 = 3n2 3m + -2m = 1m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so a?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Looks good!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep, A is correct!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you.
