An independent clause is a clause that can stand by itself as a simple sentence, or, in other words, is a complete thought. An independent clause has a subject and a predicate in it. A dependent clause contains a subject and a predicate, but IS NOT a compete thought. A dependent clause cannot stand by itself as a simple sentence. So, given that information, what do you think the answer is? :))
