OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

Which pair of angles are corresponding? Parallel Lines and Transversals A. 1 and 3 B. 1 and 4 C. 1 and 5 D. 1 and 8

OpenStudy (legends):

is there a graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Picture please, and Seahawks choke so bad.

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

i dont know how to put the graph up and you wish the seahawks choke

OpenStudy (legends):

you can screenshot it or copy and paste

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Here is an explanation. Below you see lines m and n, both intersected by transversal t. |dw:1423008779131:dw|

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

try that @Legends

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Now, I'll label all the angles so we can see which ones are considered corresponding angles. |dw:1423008881550:dw|

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Here is a list of every pair of corresponding angles: 1 and 5 2 and 6 4 and 8 3 and 7

OpenStudy (legends):

well 1 and 5 i think can be parrallell

OpenStudy (legends):

@mathstudent55 is that right

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

So C @Legends

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

When two lines are cut by a transversal, for two angles to be corresponding anlges, they need two things: 1. to be both above or below the two lines 2. to be both on the same side of the transversal.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

@Legends The idea of parallel applies to lines or planes, not to angles. In my figure, what is labeled 1 and 5 is angles, not lines, so they cannot be parallel.

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

Geometry is my kriptonite LOL

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

so is spelling

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

@Holly00d1248 Do you understand my explanation of corresponding angles?

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

Ya

OpenStudy (legends):

yea but he needs parrallell and transversal

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

So is it C

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

I can't tell if it's C because I haven't seen your drawing of the problem. You can't use my drawing with your choices.

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

actually thats the name of the graph @Legends

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

I put the link up there

OpenStudy (legends):

yea @Holly00d1248 do you think you can try drawing it

OpenStudy (legends):

i got it
