During which clash, before colonists declared independence from Britain, did the American rebels succeed in conquering the British troops they were up against and how? The Battle of Bunker Hill: The Continental Army attacked British soldiers from behind trenches leading to a British retreat, despite three attempts to take the hill. The Battle at Lexington: Minutemen at Lexington ambushed British troops and prevented them from proceeding to Concord to confiscate the patriots’ military supplies. The Burning of Falmouth: Falmouth patriots captured British ships carrying weapons and supplies

I would have to say B actually. The Battle of Falmouth was a British attack against the Patriotic ports that supported rebellion. Although the result was that the American people began working towards an independent government, continental soldiers did not conquer the British in this event. Lexington and Concord was successful in that the minutemen stopped the British from stealing gunpowder and firearms. It was also the first battle that drove the people towards independance.
