please help? what is an example for a system of non-linear equations for algebra 2? BUT THE EQUATION CANT HAVE WHOLE NUMBER ANSWERS
maube @MARC_ can help you @mabitrix
@MARC_ can you help me?
@phi can you help me?
linear means "line" a system of two linear equations could correspond to two lines on a graph. the solution is where the lines cross.
non-linear means not a line. Think of curves that you plot that are not lines. Can you think of any ?
no
Have you seen graphs of *anything* other than a line ?
yes
what ?
well i don remember what they are called..
parabolas? circles? hyperbolas? ellipse?
i've seen parabolas
If we plot two parabolas that cross each other, that would be a "system of non-linear equations" . The solution is where the intersect each other. Perhaps the easiest "system" would be two parabolas, where one is concave up and the other is concave down, like this: |dw:1423319113446:dw|
