Which explains what happens to a warm air mass at a cold front? A. A cold air mass overtakes a warm one, and the cold air rapidly pushes the warm air up. The rapidly rising warm air cools, and the water in the air condenses to form clouds, heavy rain, and thunderstorms. B. A cold air mass overtakes a warm one, and the cold air gradually pushes the warm air up. The gradually rising warm air cools, and the water in the air condenses to form clouds and gentle rain. C. A warm air mass overtakes a cold one, and the warm air gradually rises and cools.

hmm well i want you to try i know you know it :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think its B @pooja195

pooja195 (pooja195):

Can you tell me why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@pooja195 Honestly it was a good guess!:/

pooja195 (pooja195):

I think B would be right im not so sure =/

@pooja195 Thank you :)

welcome and sorry :(

Warm air trapped between two cold air masses is pushed upward and cut off from the surface. As the air rises, it cools, and the water in the air condenses to form clouds and precipitation. which one matches this statement?:-;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B matches it the most i just looked it up on google :/

My answer is B :PPP

A cold front is defined as the transition zone where a cold air mass is replacing a warmer air mass. Cold fronts generally move from northwest to southeast. The air behind a cold front is noticeably colder and drier than the air ahead of it. As warm air is lifted over advancing cold air, itself cooled as its pushed away from gravity's pull at the Earth's surface, the water will begin to condense into clouds and precipitation will form, usually of the "showers and thunderstorms" variety. So what do you think the answer is now?

Tag me on any problem and I can help. Sorry if this was late :P. Hoped it helped anyways.
