How does artifical selection differ from natural selection?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you think the Answer is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First, lets take a look at the words "Artificial" And "Natural"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Natural, normally means, normal, or normal in nature. Artificial means Fake.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Natural Selection and Artificial Selection are basically opposites, you could say.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Natural selection happens normally in nature, while artificial does not. To be more specific, Artificial selection includes Human Intervention

OpenStudy (somy):

in natural selection it is the nature that chooses the best trait - depending on environmental conditions, food availability (if animal), sun light availability (for plants) - can the plant survive in such and such conditions? which plant type? - thats how it basically happens as for Artificial one we humans choose the trait we want lets say one cow gives low amount of milk per day while the other cow gives a big sufficient amount of milk per day so we would choose the one that gives more to breed it with another male cow lets say with wanted color trait - lets say blackish so what we artificially selected here is 'female cow producing large amount of milk per day + black male cow = high probability of wanted type of offspring (chosen by human)

thanx so much xD
