\(\dfrac{1}{8} + \dfrac{1}{4} + \dfrac{3}{8} + \dfrac{3}{8} + \dfrac{3}{8} + \dfrac{3}{8} + \dfrac{1}{2} + \dfrac{1}{2} + \dfrac{5}{8} + \dfrac{5}{8} + \dfrac{3}{4} + \dfrac{7}{8}\) We can change all the fractions to denominators of 8. \(\dfrac{1}{4} \rightarrow \dfrac{1 \times 2}{4 \times 2} \rightarrow \dfrac{2}{8}\) \(\dfrac{1}{2} \rightarrow \dfrac{1 \times 4}{2 \times 4} \rightarrow \dfrac{4}{8}\) \(\dfrac{3}{4} \rightarrow \dfrac{3 \times 2}{4 \times 2} \rightarrow \dfrac{6}{8}\) Plug these back in: \(\dfrac{1}{8} + \dfrac{2}{8} + \dfrac{3}{8} + \dfrac{3}{8} + \dfrac{3}{8} + \dfrac{3}{8} + \dfrac{4}{8} + \dfrac{4}{8} + \dfrac{5}{8} + \dfrac{5}{8} + \dfrac{6}{8} + \dfrac{7}{8}\) Now we can just add them all up. \(\dfrac{1 + 2 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 4 + 4 + 5 + 5 + 6 + 7}{8}\) So can you add 1 + 2 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 4 + 4 + 5 + 5 + 6 + 7?
