Can someone help me with a few pre-algebra questions? I will give medals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you please write them here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you want a graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Consider the following system of equations: y = -x + 2 y = 3x + 1 Which description best describes the solution to the system of equations? Line y = -x + 2 intersects line y = 3x + 1. Lines y = -x + 2 and y = 3x + 1 intersect the x-axis. Lines y = -x + 2 and y = 3x + 1 intersect the y-axis. Line y = -x + 2 intersects the origin.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just which answer is it please :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

of course

OpenStudy (conqueror):

They have to intersect each other.

OpenStudy (conqueror):

So which one is it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think either the first or third

OpenStudy (conqueror):

@allibear2012 We can't 'just answer it' It's against Open Study's Code-of-COnduct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its the first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A great way to do these is to graph it out, it will help visualize what's going on in the problem

OpenStudy (conqueror):

@Starbucks Don't give answers, it's against the code of conduct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks! I have a few more :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because its not directly on the x or y axis , neither the origin

OpenStudy (conqueror):

@iambatman Shouldn't you do something?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You know, you spamming posts over and over isn't helping and is a bit annoying.

OpenStudy (conqueror):

. . .

OpenStudy (conqueror):

@Starbucks just gave a direct answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Conqueror i gave reason , so calm down . its not gonna hurt anyone.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Consider the following pair of equations: -x - y = -5 y = x + 1 If the two equations are graphed, at what point do the lines representing the two equations intersect? (-2, 3) (3, -2) (2, 3) (3, 2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Spamming posts ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i believe @Starbucks is right however, @Conqueror is also right do not break the rules on the other hand, rules are made to be broken

OpenStudy (conqueror):

@Starbucks Yes, it is..we need participation of the user..otherwise it is considered a direct answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well im so sorry if they say its okay to give a direct answer . like i said its not gonna hurt anyone.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok stop, you could directly message the user if you have a problem, you don't have to take over a post, it's fine if you say it once and move on, they get the message, but repeating it over and over again causes more problems, and is very distracting. Anyways, @daphne101 would you like to graph this out and see what's going on?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To graph, set your equations up in y = mx+b form, this way you can get a clear picture of how the line looks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So graphing the line, -x-y=-5, do some algebra and you'll get y = -x+5 which looks like this (+5 is the y - intercept, b in this case where the line crosses the y - axis). |dw:1423260651134:dw| the other line is fairly easy to graph, try doing it.
