OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

Just like in English how we say: I am and they are, in Spanish there are different ways to spell/say a verb depending on the subject. A general rule of conjugation is Yo=o Tu=as El, Ella, Usted=a Nosotros=amos Ellos, Ellas, Ustedes=an

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Compra, Compramos, Compras, Compran all come from the verb Comprar. Comprar mens to buy. When you conjugate them, it tells who is doing that action AKA who is buying. Here's what subject pronoun each verb form you listed can go with... Compra = El (him), ella (her), usted (you (formal)) So "Compra" can mean "He buys", "She buys", or "You (formal) buys" Compramos = Nosotros/Nosotras (We) = We buy Compras = tú (you)<---accent mark. = You buy ***"tú" w/o the accent on the "u" means "your" Compran = Ellos (they) ellas (they) ustedes (you guys) = "They buy", "they buy", "You guys buy". Ellos is masculine, ellas is feminine.
