Anatomy & Physiology question! Which of the following could be caused by depressed osteoblast activity? A.) Low blood calcium levels and a lack of bone growth B.) High blood calcium levels and excessive bone growth C.)Low blood calcium levels and excessive bone growth D.) High blood calcium levels and a lack of bone growth I think it's A or D. Help!
i would say D. the lack of bone growth is obvious, and since there is no bone being made the "raw material", Calcium, would still be in the blood
@aaronq what makes you think the calcium is obtained from the blood? How do you know its not produced by the osteoblasts?
awe i missed it D; i love anatomy :D
cells cant produce ions out of blue calcium is obtained by diet and stored in our cells where there is a high requirement of calcium - there is bigger storage of calcium in it osteoblast activity - is basically secretion of substances of bone one of which is calcium ion the calcium ions should not be in blood in high levels but if there is abnormality in osteoblast activity - the calcium ions are either leaked or secreted in abnormally high amount into blood and not into needed direction - bone formation/growth thus there is lack of bone growth and high levels of calcium in blood
I hope you guys are right
