Hypothesis testing: calculating type 2 error
I have no idea what I"m doing >.<
Honestly this isn't really the kind of thing anyone else can memorize for you. The best bet is to run around your house a billion times to get your antsiness out of your system, sit up straight, breathe, and focus on your no doubt dry textbook to see how to handle the procedure of calculating type 2 errors. There are probably different opinions out there on this, but that's all I got sorry =( good luck though!
lol I can't even find any straightforward sources that explain it -.-
at least all the ones I've tried to find I've just wound up getting the problem wrong
are you in Stats in Sports?
AP stats here; apparently it's not on the AP test but I have 2 questions on a webassign I have to complete. I missed the days we were talking about hypothesis testing so most of the stuff I'm doing is based off what i could gather from my teacher's powerpoints and the internet
thie file i sent has type one and type 2 error
yes unfortunately I don't think I understand how to obtain calculations for type I/II errors
can i see what you're testing
I might just go look at a solved problem and substitute my numbers
(check my first post)
actually I just found a video that might help
idk if this will help or not but
lol still not getting it
this might help http://www.ssc.wisc.edu/~gwallace/PA_818/Resources/Type%20II%20Error%20and%20Power%20Calculations.pdf
Okay so for my problem I did beta = area to the right of the normal distribution with mu=266 and sigma=70/sqrt(832) for critical value 269.35439 and I got 0.084. Which according to webassign is wrong...
in fact my webassign is telling me that (at least with practice another version) I should be getting a number with at least less than a thousandth. I don't understand.
@ganeshie8 , any ideas? I did use -2.3263 for my critical z value
when z = -2.33, what did you get for xbar?
269.35439?
anyways I redid the problem and I'm getting .0834449225
I think I need 3 decimal places which might be the problem
Yup. when I typed .084 it said it was wrong because it was actually .0834449225 -.-
oh well. thanks for helping guys I actually understand the type two error calculations
