Each cube in the object has sides measuring 2.5cm what is the total surface area of the object?
@ernesto22 Look at the first question at this link and determine if what is given there makes sense. http://tinyurl.com/p5u5cjm
@Directrix but the answer doesn't make sense
@Directrix there are 31 faces, not 26. why did they multiply by 26?
Those faces on the inside that touch do not count as surface area.
Let's start at the bottom left cube and count faces. So, for the first cubes, how many faces count as surface area? I have the six cubes numbered so let's start with cube #1 only. @ernesto22
Ooh well that makes much more sense
@directrix so it would be 5 faces that count as the surface area
Attached is my latest count. It seems to change each time I count. Look at each cube individually. The number of square faces in the count varies according to the position of the cube. At least, that is what I am thinking. @ernesto22
I just counted one more time and the count went up by 1. In red is the number of square faces I counted for each cube.
