is 3r(4x^2-9) completely factored?

OpenStudy (jpes2193):

yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you!

OpenStudy (jpes2193):

no problem... it is 3r right not 3x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is 3r

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Actually, no, it's not completely factored.

OpenStudy (jpes2193):

okay well you gotta explain this because now im confused..

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

\((4x^2-9) \) can be factored still.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so would it be (2x-3) ?

OpenStudy (jpes2193):

so it 3r(2x+3)(2x-3)

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Yes @jpes2193 @jessieboxador2319 if it was \((2x-3)^2 \) it would end up as \( 4x^2 -12x+9\) :)

OpenStudy (jpes2193):

thanks for catching that mistake... greatly appreciated :)

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

You're welcome :P
