An operon contains introns and exons. true or false?

true

@alyssa.ward2016 False (though kind of true).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@alyssa.ward2016 An operon is a genetic assembly line of genes. A group of genes work together to perform a function(s). Now, most likely there are introns and exons in these genes, but that is not how we define operon.

OpenStudy (somy):

http://prntscr.com/62w06q do you see introns and exons?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its definately true

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@alyssa.ward2016 Well, genes have to have exons, but do not need to have introns. Another issue is that bacteria can have operons, but bacteria have a near 100% absence of introns. So, no, not all operons will have exons and introns.
