Conditional probability question: There are two cards in a drawer. One of the cards is black on both sides, and the other is black on one side and white on the other. One of the cards is drawn at random and placed on the table (the side that is up being also chosen at random). You are told that the side that is up is black. What is then rob ability that the side down is black?

OpenStudy (jaredstone4):

**the probability

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have two options: 1) the card is black on both sides 2) the card is black on only one side. The top side of the card is black, leaving two options for the bottom side, white or black. Therefore the probability that the card is black on the bottom is 1/2

Thanks, I was able to get this the other day. I have another physics problem I'm about to post could you help with that?
