2x + 2y = -4 2x + -y = 6 @Holly00d1248 @Nnesha

Nnesha (nnesha):

you can do elimination method because that that would be easy

OpenStudy (holly00d1248):

I forgot how to do the elimination @Nnesha you got this one

Nnesha (nnesha):

so in order to do elimination you have to eliminate 1 variable to solve the equations!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you do elimination even though it says substitution?

Nnesha (nnesha):

where it says substitution ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it says solve using substitution @Nnesha

Nnesha (nnesha):

okay then we can do substitution method you can do any method u gonna get same answer so for substitution you have to solve one of equation for one variable

Nnesha (nnesha):

so i guess you should solve 2nd equation for y that gonna be easy so 2x + - y = 6 solve this for y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-y = 4?

Nnesha (nnesha):

you can't combine 6 and 2x bec 6 doesn't have any x

Nnesha (nnesha):

so live that as it is -y = -2x + 6 now divide by negative sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so I would rewrite it as y = 2x + 6?

Nnesha (nnesha):

2x is positive on left side so you have to subtract 2x both side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3

Nnesha (nnesha):

|dw:1423615635112:dw| now divide by negative one
