what is a structural isomer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Structural isomers are two or more molecular structures that have the same molecular formulas but their structures are different. For instance, pentane and methylbutane exhibit structural isomerism. They both have the formula C5H12 but one has a 5-carbon backbone and the other only has a 4-carbon backbone with a methyl functional group attached to the second carbon atom.
