OpenStudy (misty1212):

hey!!

OpenStudy (misty1212):

you have a lot of questions there the first batch are all calculator exercises want to do one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes please

OpenStudy (misty1212):

no one uses degrees and minutes, this stuff is from the 60's here check the link http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=sin%2840+degrees+20+minutes%29

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would i insert it into a calculator?

OpenStudy (misty1212):

you on a computer right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but i have a calculator in front of me and i need to know how to do it on one for a test

OpenStudy (misty1212):

ok well since you are using archaic minutes, you would have to convert to a decimal first

OpenStudy (misty1212):

20 minutes is \(\frac{20}{60}=\frac{2}{3}\) which makes a crapo decimal, \[.22222\] etc

OpenStudy (misty1212):

so you would put your calculator in degree mode and maybe type in \[\sin(40+20\div 60)\]

OpenStudy (misty1212):

actually \(\frac{2}{3}=0.6666...\) but still a lousy decimal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when i put sin(...) in the cal i get .5569462797

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops i put 80 not 60 so i get .4858812599
